The Way to Make Your Mark

Case #4
Parents routinely steer their children towards a university or college education. They don't consider apprenticeships as a viable option. Trades are seen as a default option or a lesser career choice.
People in the trades told us a different story. They're extremely passionate about their profession. Trades demand a unique mix of brains and brawn that challenges them mentally and physically. They feel rewarded each day. And take great pride in seeing what they have done.
We used portraits of real tradespeople to showcase their passion. “Make your mark” challenged young people to join the trades and leave a lasting impression on the world. It highlighted the work ethic, values, and love of job tradespeople feel. And helped start a conversation between parents and their children about a career in the trades.
